FAQs

How will I know that you are the right counsellor for me? I offer an online introductory 30-minute session free of charge or £20 for a face to face session (to cover room costs) so we can meet and you can tell me a little about yourself what you hope to achieve from counselling. I will tell you how I work and will answer any queries you may have. We can liaise afterwards to arrange further sessions if we are both happy to proceed.

How long does each session last? Sessions last 50 minutes.

How many sessions will I need? This is something that can be discussed at an initial meeting. Some matters may be resolved in a few sessions, others can take much longer. An agreement for an initial six sessions can be a helpful start.

What does it cost? Sessions are offered on a sliding fee scale from £60-£75 and £85 for employee counselling. I have a couple of low-cost spaces available, please check for availability. Couples or duo counselling is £75-£90 for 50 minutes; £90-£110 for 60 minutes and £120-£150 for 1 hour and 20 minutes.

Where do you practise? I work from counselling rooms located near Queen’s Park, Brighton. I will provide you with the details when we agree an initial meeting. I also provide online counselling via Zoom.

How do I know that you work in an ethical way and will safeguard my best interests? I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapists and abide by their ethical guidelines. I also have regular supervision.
